Bookkeeping
Problem: Many business owners do not realize bookkeeping is only ONE PHASE in accounting. That is why many overwork for no reason or still get audited by the IRS because their numbers are wrong. When hiring a bookkeeper please understand that bookkeepers are mostly data entry and organize work. Unless they have worked at a larger accounting firm or in an accounting department for years they may not have enough experience to be the end all be all for all of your money monthly.
Solution:
That’s why it is important to still have an accountant, controller, CPA, or CFO check the work often not just at the end of the year because that’s too late.
Schedule a call if you want us to do a financial health check aka second opinion on your books.
Accounting
Problem: Many business owners do not hire an accountant, controller, or CPA until it’s too late. They stop at bookkeeping not realizing that it is just ONE PHASE in accounting. Someone still needs to verify what the bookkeeper did was even correct and take it a step further to ensure things like payroll compliance (taxes and journals), sales and use tax compliance, tips, capitalization, interest tracking, loans, depreciation, assets, startup costs, tenant improvements, inventory management, job costing, cashflow forecasting, industry specific needs, entity specific needs, etc. are all calculated correctly and in a timely manner.
Solution: CFO Accounting Rehab brings you a team with an average tenure of 20 years in accounting to ensure you get the best talent for affordable rates.

CFO
Problem: Businesses fail often due to cash flow issues.
Businesses below $10 million in annual recurring revenue
Books cannot be trusted, hiring too late or too early, getting paid or invoicing late, seasonality issues, misclassifying expenses, recognizing revenue at wrong periods, little to no tax planning, etc.
Businesses above $10 million in annual recurring revenue
Businesses lack the financial systems and infrastructure to handle more revenue, not understanding how to use working capital and lines of credit / loans to handle larger jobs, lack of KPIs (key performance indicators) to catch mistakes or green flags early on, not being prepared for mergers & acquisitions, etc.
This is why a CFO can demand a salary of at least $150k+ annually. Unfortunately, business owners fall for gimmicks and hire bookkeepers who say they can do CFO work when in reality it’s a ticking time bomb. Or others hire a CFO team not realizing all other accounting and tax pieces need to be squeaky clean for the CFO’s assessment to even be right.
Solution: CFO Accounting Rehab oversees all the accounting and tax planning to ensure our CFO arm can have squeaky clean financials to then do their CFO analysis.

Taxes
Problem: Business owners often get their taxes done by a CPA or Tax Professional and only meet with them once a year. They also don’t do a quality check to verify does the taxes actually match their books. Many times it doesn’t. Which means if your business gets audited you have no paper trail from your books to verify what was put on the taxes is even right. That’s why it’s important to work with a CPA and Tax Professional throughout the year and verify the work since you’re still liable by signing off to approve their work…even when they mess up (a lawsuit can get expensive fast).
Solution:
CFO Accounting Rehab only does taxes for businesses we oversee all their accounting and finances for monthly. The only exceptions to this practice have to be approved by our executive team. The reason we try not to do one off taxes is because tax planning takes time. If you come to us last minute there isn’t much we can do and you’ll leave with a bad after taste not realizing we need to start 6-24 months ahead of time to start catching the right tax strategies that work for your business needs.
Call or text us if you’re ready to get a head of your
taxes.
